DR. Donielle Fagan, PhD

Office Location: Atlanta

I embrace that therapy is not intended to be a life story, but rather a planned and timely experience for growth which allows my clients to gain skills that will help them succeed far after moving on from therapy.

Hi. I am Dr. Fagan, and I provide individual therapy and a range of psychological testing and evaluations, including but not limited to ADHD, IQ, and learning ability/disorder testing.

I believe that psychotherapy can help individuals gain the tools they need to live a healthy life more wholly and meaningfully. My chosen theoretical orientation and my approach reflects my desire to advance multiculturalism within therapy. I conceptualize my clients from a cognitive-behavioral approach while also integrating strength-based and culturally responsive interventions. Being culturally responsive to my clients allows me to establish a strong therapeutic bond. I find it important to acknowledge that their identities and culture is what uniquely humanizes them while also creating safety around being authentically themselves in session. People’s cognitions and behaviors are shaped by the world around them. Therefore, their identities, their experience, and their specific context, matters. I am intentional in my interactions with clients because at the core of therapy is connection-that’s what my clients feel.

I completed a doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Auburn University and did a pre-doctoral internship at Georgia Institute of Technology. I also hold a Master’s degree in both Counseling and Clinical Psychology. I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing depression and anxiety, trauma and grief, identity concerns, trauma, and other presenting concerns. I also specialize in Culturally Adaptive-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CA-CBT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). I am also a certified QPR Gatekeeper Instructor. In addition to therapy, I also teach undergraduate courses on Ethics in Psychology, Theories of Personality, and General Psychology, and conduct psychological research. In my free time, I am spending time with my family and son- graciously enjoying him grow.

I have a hobby- creating children’s books. Check out my book, “My Feelings Are Okay”, which is a coping skills book for kids, at https://www.amazon.com/Feelings-Are-Okay-Donielle-Fagan/dp/1098387740.
