"I offer a supportive space where clients can tap into their inner strengths and apply evidence-based strategies to heal, gain clarity, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.".
As a therapist, I consider it a privilege to walk beside you on your path to relief, healing, and transformation. I specialize in helping individuals overcome challenges related to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders (such as social anxiety, performance anxiety, and generalized anxiety), life transitions, career changes, relationships, self-worth, and identity. A passionate mental health advocate, I hold a Master's in Counseling from Northwestern University and have served as a regular mental health contributor on WFLA's Bloom TV.
While I work with clients from all walks of life, I have found that athletes (including those transitioning to retirement), high-performing career-driven women, college students, new graduates, career changers, and individuals experiencing major life transitions (such as new parents and those going through divorce) resonate deeply with my therapeutic approach. Together, we will build the tools and insights needed to navigate life’s changes with confidence and resilience.
I believe that trust and emotional safety are at the core of good therapy. In my therapy room, you’ll find a warm, collaborative, and insightful space where your strengths are seen and celebrated. While I deeply listen, I offer more than just a listening ear – I bring an active and engaged presence to our sessions, providing feedback, asking thoughtful questions, and offering guidance tailored to your goals. You will feel supported and empowered as we navigate difficult conversations together, with plenty of uninterrupted space to process and explore, and the flexible structure to move toward meaningful change.
I understand that there isn’t just one path to healing – and therapy should be as unique as you are. With this in mind, my approach is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities in which I have training and experience. These may include person-centered therapy, modern psychodynamic (insight-driven), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. We’ll start by identifying the challenges you’re facing and clarify what "better" looks like for you. From there, we’ll craft a tailored plan that helps you build skills and insights, while regularly checking in to make adjustments as needed. My goal is to give you the tools, resources, and understanding to not only cope but thrive.
I work under the supervision of Dr. Amy Smith-Barnes.
