Sophie Gern, LMSW

PRONOUNS: SHE/HER

Office Location: Atlanta

As your clinician, I am committed to helping you navigate your personal challenges with the understanding that ultimately, you are the driver of your own therapy.

My goal is to provide a safe, understanding, and uplifting environment for my clients. My approach is client-centered, supporting you in your therapeutic goals. I will work closely with you or your child, to create a dynamic and empathetic therapeutic environment. As a younger clinician I'm passionate about working with kiddos and teens to manage ADHD, bullying, body image, and social media addiction. Additionally, I work with individual adults and couples coping with trauma, grief, and relationship difficulties. I offer EMDR, CBT and DBT. For couples, I offer Emotionally-Focused Therapy, an attachment-based approach.

I completed my BA in Psychology from Emory University and earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, with a focus on interpersonal practice in mental health and substance abuse. I am also licensed to practice in New Jersey. I'm originally from New York and love Atlanta for all of its parks, dogs, yoga studios and restaurants!

I'm currently practicing under the clinical supervision of Melissa Grasso, LCSW, and the direction of Amy Smith-Barnes, PsyD. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation. I look forward to connecting with you!
