Diligent, Enthusiastic, Curious, Affirming, Transparent, United, and Realistic therapy
Hello! My name is Felipe and I’m an Argentinian-Brazilian-American Mental Health Counselor who specializes in men’s issues, couples counseling, and working with the Latino population. My advanced clinical training in a high-stakes incarceratory environment provided me with the opportunity to help diverse individuals experiencing severe anxiety, depression, complex trauma, abuse, PTSD, family and interpersonal conflict, acute mental health disorders, and difficulties with cultural adaptation, immigration stress, and identity-based discrimination. I am also passionate about working with males experiencing Normative Male Alexithymia (difficulties identifying and feeling emotions) and the BIPOC and Queer populations.
Currently, I’m under the clinical supervision of Dr. Debbie Smith, LPC, CPCS, and clinical direction of Meg McLeroy, LMFT. I have completed over 50 hours of intensive training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and provide trilingual therapy in English, Spanish and Portuguese. I like to conceptualize my clients using an integrative lens that combines Person-Centered (Humanistic) and Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT). I also strive to provide culturally competent care by approaching every client with an open mind, a curious ear, and unconditional positive regard.
Regardless of your background, I will always encourage you to speak your mind freely without filtering your experience. I believe that honest and transparent communication is the key to progress and I see interpersonal connection as the key to healing. I also use evidenced based interventions from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gestalt Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to attend to the present moment, provide corrective learning experiences, and process emotions.
I am dedicated to improving my clients’ mental health and would love to have the opportunity to work with you. However, therapy is a two-way street which means it’s critical that you like your therapist. Please schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me so we can see if I’d be a good fit for you.
