“To choose solitude freely, to love and engage fully – both are capacities to be desired.” -Deborah Luepnitz in Schopenhauer’s Porcupines

Life is a curious, sometimes joyous, sometimes difficult journey. Throughout your journey, you meet people, face adversity, and grow as a person. Sometimes you face major challenges or experiences that you feel alone in. With therapy, you do not have to feel alone, and I want to provide the space and time for you to share your experiences with me.

With me, you will find a space of listening, attention, and care, in which we explore where you have been, where you are, and where you want to go – as well as the changes needed to get you there. Together, we will create a map of your past, present, and future, so that you are able to experience life completely and meaningfully. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you will have an important role in shaping our time together.

As a clinician, I have worked previously with college students and adults through homesickness, relational challenges, and chronic pain. I am most interested in working with adults (18+) and senior adults to explore lived experiences and to provide new insights and specific skills to help make life more meaningful. I utilize an Existential and Psychodynamic lens, with some Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and emotion regulation techniques to provide tangible skills. All the while, treatment is focused on you and your well-being. Please contact me below with any questions!

I am under the clinical supervision of Jessie Alexander, LPC, CPCS, and direction of Amy Smith-Barnes, PSYD.
